Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last Thursday our school came together to celebrate the fathers in our community. The day began with the P & F Father’s Day Stall, where students had the opportunity to choose a special gift for their dad. Later in the day, we welcomed dads, grandads and father figures for a BBQ lunch, fun games on the playground and open classrooms. It was wonderful to see the joy shared between children and their families as they left for the afternoon.

The celebration coincided with the final day of our Book Fair. A special thank you to Mrs Wilson and Mrs Staff for coordinating this year’s event. The money raised will go towards updating and expanding our library collection. We are also very grateful to our parents for their generosity in supporting the fair and for fostering a love of reading with your children. As we know, reading is an essential lifelong skill that opens doors to learning and success for all students.

We hope that all fathers in our community enjoyed a special Father’s Day on Sunday 7 September.

This week our Year 5 and 6 students headed off to their first primary school camp. They enjoyed three days of exciting activities, building friendships and creating lasting memories. A very big thank you to the staff who generously gave their time to support our students in this important milestone.

As the weather begins to get warmer, we will transition into our Summer Uniform. From Monday 15 September, students may begin wearing either their full summer uniform or continue with their full winter uniform. Students are expected to be in their full Summer uniform from Term 4, Monday 13 October.

Uniform Policy Review October 2025
The current uniform policy is due to be reviewed in October 2025. The leadership team will update the Uniform Policy and then consult with the P & F. Hazelton’s Uniform Shop will also be involved to ensure that pricing and quality uniform options are carefully considered.

The aim of the update is to:

  • Provide clarity for our Summer and Winter uniforms

  • Establish clearer guidelines on haircuts

We will continue to maintain current colours and uniform pieces (no changes to these).

Please complete this Google Form if would like to be considered to be part of this consultation group. We truly value your input and encourage as many parents as possible to take part in shaping this update.
