ST VINCENT DE PAUL WINTER APPEAL

Wow! What a successful Hot Chocolate and Donut day. Thank you to all who purchased a hot chocolate and donut and came dressed in their warm winter PJ’s. Our Mini Vinnies team served the donuts and hot chocolate prepared by Mrs Caleja. A huge thank you to Woolworths Albion Park who donated $100 towards the purchase of the donuts.

Over $1600 was raised and will be donated to our local St Vincent de Paul Society to assist them with supporting local people in need.

SPAP VINNIES COMMUNITY SLEEPOUT

Thank you to the families and staff who supported our SPAP Winter Sleepout. Thank you to Mrs Griffith who organised a balloon activity which developed our understanding of how people struggle to cope with living costs and to Mrs Benoit for organising houses of hope activity. Students also had the opportunity to build a shelter with cardboard. About 30 children were in attendance with family members. There was also a group from our local St Vincent de Paul branch and staff in attendance who joined in the activities.

Along with raising awareness of Homelessness, over $150 was raised which will also be donated to St Vincent de Paul.

FIRST RECONCILIATION

Last Wednesday students from Year 3 and other grades made their First Reconciliation at St Paul’s Parish Church. Children have been preparing for the Sacrament of Penance with the support of their families over the last 6 weeks. Please continue to keep these students in your prayers as they prepare for their First Communion throughout Term Three.
